I have been taking photographs from a very young age, and my father taught me the principles of photography and darkroom printing and developing. I have tried all types of photography over the years from family, children, animals, sport, nature, macro, and more recently creative techniques. I sold my business and retired early and travelled a lot and took a lot more photographs.

When Covid hit, out on a walk,I met a nature photographer, and she told me about a kingfisher on the river Dodder and where to find it. I went along the next day and was amazed to see a kingfisher and fishing on the river near where I lived many years ago. There were quite a few photographers there and I tried to take a few photos, but I realised you needed more specialist equipment for such a small fast purge. I watched many YouTube videos and ordered a new camera system and within a couple of months I was taking amazing pictures of the kingfisher family.

When Covid was over and we were free to travel again, I spent a lot of time learning new photographic techniques and joined the Dublin Camera Club to hone my skills and show my work to others and discuss how to improve it. It was very beneficial where I learned a lot.

I signed up for a two-year professional photography course at Pearse College  which I have just finished and can lead onto another 2 years to get a BA degree in photography. In the meantime, I will be taking lots of pictures trying new techniques. and improving  my skills.

I am available for commissions from portrait to pets, from houses to gardens and sports to sailing ( another hobby).
